Spanish pomegranates grow on shrubby trees that average between 5 and 8 meters tall. The spherical fruits are roughly the size of an apple and have a thin leathery skin that is more of a creamy pink than red. The seeds, technically called arils, and pale red color and softer than those of the red variety. Spanish pomegranates offer a super sweet taste and have the sugar levels and the lowest acidity of all the varieties.
You can use the seeds of Pomegranate in sweet and savory dishes. You can add them to salads, rice, yogurt, baked and roasted vegetable dishes such as baked eggplant. Also, you can incorporate them in tarts, cakes, and chocolate desserts.
