You want the alstroemeria to last as long as possible since they are such lovely flowers. How to get the most out of your alstroemeria flowers is as follows:
Recut the stems at an angle, and take off any leaves that might protrude beyond the waterline in a vase. By removing the leaves from the stem, water is prompted to get closer to the flower head.
Before adding your flowers, fill a clean vase with cool water and some flower food.
Every three to four days, change the water and trim the stems.
Display alstroemeria in a cool, shaded area for optimum results. Avoid standing in direct sunlight or being near ripening fruit.
Some persons may experience an allergic reaction to alstroemeria.
