  • Bananas are a fresh eating banana and can be used as a dessert banana as well. Their sweetness lends to many recipes in various applications. These bananas can be a principal ingredient in smoothies, baby food, pudding, cakes, muffins, bread, cookies, ice cream and tarts.

  • Bananas are picked green and ripen at room temperature. Refrigerating them not only causes the skin to darken, it slows down or stops ripening. So, it is best to keep them out of the fridge until they are fully ripened.

  • Caramelized Baked Banana Oatmeal


    1 banana
    1/2 cup almond milk
    1/4 teaspoon vanilla?
    1/2 cup oats
    1 tablespoon flax seeds
    1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
    1/4 teaspoon baking powder
    1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
    1 pinch salt


    1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
    2. Spray a ramekin or oven-safe bowl with cooking spray. Chop half the banana and add it to the bowl. Add all the remaining ingredients to the bowl and carefully stir together. Slice the remaining banana and layer on top of the oatmeal.
    3. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the oatmeal is bubbling and bananas begin to caramelize on top.
