Resembling its name, the small, round gem squash has deep green skin. Generally, the weight is 0.7 to 1 kg for each piece, and it has a mildly sweet flavor and a firm texture.
Perfect for individual servings, this squash may be baked, braised, steamed, microwaved, grilled, sauteed, or eaten raw.
To store, keep in a cool dry place. Once cut, wrap in plastic; refrigerate for up to one week. You can eat the gem squash with the skin after cooking it.
